Do you remember that beautiful sheet music I got at the antique store last weekend? Frontiers Antiques
I've been pondering as to what to do with them. I've seen cute ideas out here in 'blog-land' but none of them have me super excited. Guess what?! I dreamt two ideas last night! Here they are....
Sheet.Music.Flowers
Supplies:
- several pieces of sheet music {at least 2}
- flower template or stencil [preferably different sizes]
- pencil & scissors
- glue [I used my hot glue.gun]
- buttons or embellishments for the centers [optional]
To start, stack 2 sheets of music together, trace the flowers onto the paper, [I used felt flowers as a template] Then cut them out, you should have 2 identical flowers.
I used a pencil to curl {1 of the 2 flowers} the petals inward, giving them some dimension.
I layered them again, with the curled flower on top, and glued them together. I used buttons as centers, hand-sewing them on, you could glue them on too.
I remembered an old frame that i had stashed away.
I got it out, distressed it, and embellished it with the flowers. Cute!
You could use these beauties on anything... a lampshade, a wreath, they'd even be cute hanging from my little twig centerpiece......

Part 2.
Sheet.Music.Garland
Supplies: 5-10 flowers, thread & needle
This project is based on the flowers listed above, make the flowers as directed {you'll need approx. 5-10 flowers, depending on how long you want your strand of garland}
- Line the flowers up in a row, in the order that you like and spaced the distance that you want them to hang.
- Take your thread and unwind a piece as long as your row of flowers with 2 extra inches on each end. {Cut thread, of course} and thread your needle.
Bare with me as I try to explain...
- Starting at one end of your row of flowers, take the first flower and thread {weave in & out } the bottom-layer flower, on one petal.
- Pull the flower to approx. 3 inches from the end of thread end. [you have to leave extra thread to hand the garland]
- Do the same for the rest, keeping them in order. *Be careful when pulling the flowers to desire spacing, mine started to rip.
Here they are!....
I decided to hang them from the entryway mirror! I love how they turned out, dainty and simple.
I'm hoping I'll have more *inspiration dreams tonight! {wink}
