Frontier's Antiques

.
.
Yesterday, a couple of my girlfriends and I loaded up "big bertha" {a 18-passenger van} and headed to Staunton {VA} for a day of antiquing.  Our destination was 'Frontier's Antiques!' Several girls had recently been there, and after seeing their fabulous finds, I just had to see for myself!

Let me give you a little glimpse as to what kind of antique shop this was...

Yes, that is the entrance! I felt like I should have put on a hard-hat before entering!

There was "junk" everywhere! Literally, piles, and mounds and rooms, and rooms filled.
There was only a handful {or 2} of items that caught my attention and I seriously considered. Here are the the goodies I took home...

I fell in love with this beauty the minute I spotted her.
Three thick books of old music, great for paper wreaths & paper machete.

A $2 chair! I'm envisioning rustic black??

Old books, great for staking & displays!

A set of vintage, molding picture frames. $1 each.
The best part is that the owner is a negotiator...
I paid $28.00 for ALL OF THIS!!

Next time your traveling through the Shenandoah Valley or if your a local, I highly recommend
checking out Frontier's Antiques in Staunton, you won't be disappointed!

Have a good one!

A sneak-peek.......

.
Goodmorning friends!  - I hope each of you are having a good start to this Valentine's Monday! I am feeling rejuvenated by the warm, spring-like weather and sunshine, praise the Lord! The little ones and I hope to head outside for awhile!

It's been a week now since we returned home from Florida.  We had a wonderful vacation; fabulous weather, relaxation & fun, shopping, beach time, and {of course} great food!   { I must admit, it took me awhile to transition back to VA living, i could totally live down there.

Any-who, I've wanted to share some sneak-peak pics. of our 'it's-taking-forever' kitchen makeover.  ** I hope to post the big "reveal" this weekend!    Remember? - This is what it originally looked like....

Boy, did I have a time picking out a color!!  It took me 3 tries before I was happy.
*you can see on the above pic., I tried a burnt-orange. {yikes!}

Here's a peek of what I finally picked....  a light stone, gray.

Wanting to keep this project as cheap as possible, I first used as much [as possible] of the decor. that i already had. Aaand of course I resorted to thrifting, too.  Here are some of the face-lifts I've been working on.....

I had to make a chalkboard tray!

 How I love you spray-paint!

From scuffed-up silver to classic white!
This pot's ready for a final coat!

Isn't it amazing how a fresh coat of color makes all the difference??!

Well, that's all folks! I'm excited to share {stage 1} of my new and improved kitchen with you soon!
